Epademik Interview

We caught up with OC rapper Epademik again for a quick interview to get some updates on his career. We talked about his upcoming album, Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, Ke$ha, and more.

HHiH: What up Ep..what have you been up to since the last time we talked?

Epademik: Just been keepin focused. Gettin geared up for my project to drop. Been doing a lot of production for various artists and pushin my street album 1918.

HHiH: We are still waiting for your major debut, Addicted To The Grind. Can you tell us when it will be out?

Epademik: Yeah I know… Well everything is complete. Be patient, its coming real soon. I’m a perfectionist and everything has to be right. I’m not gonna put out some half ass stuff. Not to mention there’s a lot that goes into releasing a project. It will be out extremely soon.

HHiH: You have finished the video for your first single, “I’m An Addict.” When will the single and video be released?

Epademik: Very soon, very soon.

HHiH: So.. A little bird have told me that you’re not a fan of rappers like Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, etc.. What’s the deal with that?

Epademik: What, do you own a fuckin pet store or some shit? You must have Bird Seed all up in your home with all these “little birds” that be telling you stuff. lol… I’m a fan of good music with substance. I’m a hip hop head so lyrics are important to me and those cats aren’t on that vibe. I mean, I can’t relate to their music. Opinions are like assholes… Everybody has one and I don’t like their music.

HHiH: What other rappers that are out now don’t you feel?

Epademik: I wouldn’t consider this person a rapper but Maaan you know who I can’t stand?! That Keisha Tik Tok bitch… I know she’s not a “rapper” but she’s just wack. I mean she “raps” like its 1986 and people think its “fresh” and “new”. Get the fuck outta here. I could swear she jacked JJ Fad’s flavor. Ha ha The crazy part is she actually dissed on Britney Spears for using auto tune but that Tik Tok bitch has her voice processed the fuck out including Auto Tuned. We’ll see where she is in a year from now.

HHiH: Why do you think rappers like Gucci and Soulja get so much attention on various hip hop sites though?

Epademik: Plain and simple, Money… Even you know about artists paying for advertising and to have songs on mixtapes and most of the music is really horrible. At the end of the day this is the “Music Business”. People are in it to make money. It seems like the art form, especially in Hip Hop is almost irrelevant. Sad shit.

HHiH: Maybe they’re reading this right now..haha..what would you say to them if they do?

Epademik: If they’re reading this… Do us all a favor and slit your own wrists. Lol

HHiH: I’ve read a lot of comments about you on various sites. The ones that are hating are almost always saying that you’re an Eminem wannabe. Is it even possible for a white rapper who gets some shine to not hear that at some point?

Epademik: That’s really funny shit. Most of the time the so-called haters are guys who are aspiring rappers that aren’t any good so they lash out. How the fuck do I sound or look like Eminem? My music and style is completely different from his. As far as looking like him, lol… I guess all white guys look the same, right? Dumb ass bastards! All those sour comments are expected, I just laugh at them.

HHiH: It’s just stupid. You don’t even sound or look like Eminem, nor do a lot of other white rappers.

Epademik: Like I said, disgruntled no name rappers.

HHiH: I will let you go back to work. If there’s anything else you want to say to those who are reading this, feel free to speak now
